IIHF World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend

2023 GIRLS HOCKEY WEEKEND

That's a wrap! October was filled with 3 weekends of #GirlsHockey! Thank you to everyone who participated, check out some of the action in the pictures below!

Engage On Social

Show your girls hockey pride throughout the weekend on social media using #GirlsHockey and #WGIHW.

Below are some ideas for posts to get you started!

  1. Post a photo of your favorite women's hockey player and explain why.
  2. Post a photo of yourself playing with a caption that explains why you play and what you love most about hockey.
  3. Post your favorite U.S. Women's National Team highlight or moment. Trust us, there's plenty to choose from!
  4. Tag a friend who doesn't play yet and ask them to give it a try with you sometime this winter.

Remember to tag @usahockey on your posts so we can share!

Ideas For Host Sites

Season Kick-Off Party

Host a pizza party, street hockey game or watch a women's hockey game with all the girls in your program. It's a great way to show your appreciation for your girls hockey players and gives them an opportunity to bond with other female players.

Try Hockey For Free

Host an opportunity for local girls to try youth hockey for the first time. Associations can encourage current players to bring a friend to the rink to try hockey for the first time. To have your Try Hockey event counted for GHW or the Hattrick Growth Challenge, be sure to register as a Try Hockey host site with USA Hockey.

Bring a Friend to Skate

Host an association "Bring a friend to skate" day/night at the rink. Ask your current membership to bring girls to an open skate day and be sure capture the event on social media!
