USA Hockey Bob O'Connor Education & Resource Center

USA Hockey Education & Resource Center is the home to the most extensive collection of ice hockey coaching resources in the world. Located at USA Hockey headquarters in Colorado Springs, the Resource Center contains ice hockey coaching books, manuals and videos. Olympic and championship game videos, ice hockey magazines and original hockey artwork are included in the collection. It also serves as an archive for USA Hockey coaching and training materials.

The collection is available to coaches, athletes, researchers and USA Hockey members. Access to the collection is by appointment only. To schedule an appointment call (719) 538-1101.


How to Search the Archives

The USA Hockey Bob O’Connor Education & Resource Center is designed to be used on-site and by appointment only.  The Resource Center’s catalogue of holdings  is posted on the Internet to assist coaches and researchers in planning their visits to the library. USA Hockey does not provide research, loan or copy-making services.

Bob O'Connor

Bob O'Connor donated the funds to establish the Resource Center. A Director Emeritus on USA Hockey's Board of Directors, he created the center to preserve rare coaching resources and share them with current and future coaches, players and hockey enthusiasts. He collected an array of instructional books and videos that focus on teaching hockey skills.

His collection includes artwork from the artists: Robert K. Abbett, Patricia Bourque, William Roy Brownridge, Terrence Fogarty, Tony Harris, Dave Hendrickson, Steven A. Hovel, Michael La Pensee, D.R. Laid, James Meger, John Newby, David Preston Smith, Terry Tomalty, and Ken Wales.
