Beginning Friday, March 9, 2018, the International Ice Hockey Federation will host its third annual Global Girls Game. The Global Girls Game is a worldwide initiative during which international hockey federations host games in succession around the world. In conjunction with this event, USA Hockey will highlight its own piece of the IIHF Global Girls Game — a March 10 NWHL tilt between the Metropolitan Riveters and the Boston Pride — along with girls/women's games at varying age levels across the country as part of the United States National Continuous Game that runs from March 9-11. The NWHL game will be the 2018 U.S. Global Girls Game. In all, there are 44 games ranging from the 8U age classification through the professional ranks as part of USA Hockey's National Continuous Girls Game, representing 26 states and 11 districts. The IIHF Global Girls Game has 38 countries represented.
A complete listing of games is available below. Please note that all game times have been changed to Eastern Time and actual game times may not be exact (e.g., the 5 p.m. game slot may reflect an actual game at 5:15 p.m.).
We encourage your teams, league, players, staff, and parents to share their experiences by posting photos, videos, and stories of the girls before, during, and after their games by tagging/mentioning USA Hockey's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages and using the hashtag #GlobalGirlsGame
