Practices continue at 2018 Girls 16/17 PDC

Final team games to be played on Thursday

The 2018 USA Hockey Girls 16/17 Player Development Camp continued on Wednesday, July 18, with a day of practice sessions and training activities for the athletes. 

Games at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center will resume Thursday, July 19, starting at 1:30 p.m. CT.

ON POINT: Team Royal Blue coach Ann Ninnemann will begin her 13th season as head women’s hockey coach at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2018-19. Ninnemann was UWSP’s first All-American player in 2001-02 and captained the Pointers for three seasons from 2002 to 2005. She posted 55 goals and 69 assists as a college player. Raised in Rosemount, Minnesota, Ninnemann has worked numerous USA Hockey camps during her career.

Team Light Blue intern coach Beth Hanrahan recently completed her first season as an assistant coach at Lindenwood Univeristy in St. Charles, Missouri. Hanrahan was a standout at Providence College from 2011-2015, before playing professionally with the New York Riveters of the NWHL during the 2015-16 season. A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Hanrahan charted 75 points during her tenure at Providence. Before joining the staff at Lindenwood, Hanrahan was an assistant coach at Shattuck-St. Mary’s.

CAMP FUN FACTS: Team White’s Jenna Ruiz (Eagan, Minn.) recently joined the Eagan High School table tennis team … Team Light Blue’s Jordan Kowalski lists Kacey Bellamy as her USA Hockey role model. A three-time Olympic medalist with Team USA in women’s hockey, Bellamy and Kowalski are both from Westfield, Mass. Kowalski has recorded two assists this year at the camp … Team Royal’s Rayla Clemons (Franklin, Mich.) is fluent in French and has dual citizenship in both the United States and Canada. In addition to hockey, Clemons also plays basketball, lacrosse and field hockey … Team Black’s Elaina Kaiser (Westmont, Ill.) has participated in the USA Luge Training Camp in Muskegon, Mich.
