USA Hockey has announced the dates and details for a pair of its 2018-19 membership development initiatives.
Try Hockey For Free Days
USA Hockey’s national Try Hockey For Free Days, which are sponsored by Chipotle, Liberty Mutual and Pure Hockey, are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, during Come Play Hockey Month, and Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, as part of Hockey Week Across America.
Last season, nearly 25,000 children participated in USA Hockey’s two Try Hockey For Free Days. These events have introduced more than 177,000 children to the sport since their inception eight seasons ago.

2 and 2 Challenge
USA Hockey’s 2 and 2 Challenge program provides youth hockey associations with an actionable season-long plan and support for increasing participation among children between the ages of 4 and 8. Associations have the opportunity to utilize step-by-step guidance, tools and national resources to achieve the program’s goal of adding two new players and retaining two more players than the previous season’s total.
The three phases of the 2 and 2 Challenge include retention, acquisition, and conversion. USA Hockey supports participating associations through each phase on and off the ice. To learn more about the 2 and 2 Challenge or to accept the challenge for the 2018-19 season, click here.
In support of the Try Hockey For Free Days and the 2 and 2 Challenge, USA Hockey supplies participating associations with marketing resources and other support to promote the game at the grassroots level. USA Hockey also partners with the National Hockey League and its member clubs to market the Try Hockey For Free Days nationwide.
