USA Hockey's NTDP & USA Hockey Arena's Marketing Operations Internship

USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and USA Hockey Arena seeks part-time Game Day Operations interns/volunteers to join the game day staff. This position offers an inside perspective of the game day operations of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, and an opportunity to gain valuable skills in the sports industry. Applicants selected for the position will be in a fast-paced environment that requires attentiveness to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to react quickly and appropriately.

Please note this is an unpaid internship opportunity located at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work all Team USA home games at USA Hockey Arena
  • Work with Manager of Marketing Operations and Producer to efficiently execute game scripts
  • Assist in planning and preparing game day activities
  • Assist with in-game promotions and activities, including selecting guests to participate in promotions and on-ice activities
  • Assist with execution of all pre-game and post-game activities
  • Fulfill partnership activation, including concourse marketing and setup
  • Ensure a first-class and memorable experience for all fans at USA Hockey Arena
  • Conduct research to generate new, engaging in-game activities and promotions
  • Assist in a wide variety of other USA Hockey-related game day tasks
  • Assist with other non-game day events (optional)

Skills and Qualifications

  • College student majoring in marketing, advertising or communications desired
  • Familiarity with hockey preferred
  • Experience with live event planning/execution preferred
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong speaking skills
  • Ability to communicate and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Highly organized and task oriented
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Must be willing to work weekends/holidays
