Innovative Goaltending Equipment Debuts

Youth Hockey Quick Change Gear Will Revolutionize the Game at 8U

The allure of goaltending has long included the opportunity to wear equipment unique to the position. But that same equipment also lurks as an obstacle. It’s a commitment, both financial and positional, that most 8U players and their parents are reluctant to make. As a result, comparatively few get introduced to goaltending, which thins the talent pool and robs would-be puck-stoppers of an exciting hockey experience. USA Hockey sought a solution, and with help from Total Hockey, the QuickChange goalie gear system was born. Beginning this fall, it will revolutionize the game at 8U.

Consisting of 24-inch leg pads and a padded goalie jersey, both designed to fit over standard player equipment, the QuickChange gear will allow 8U skaters to become goaltenders in 60 seconds. Now every player can experience the position and every 8U outing can include goaltenders.

It’s a new era in youth skill development.

QuickChange gear is available to order now, and must be ordered by July 15 to ensure delivery for the start of your 2016-17 season.
