Roster Announced for 2015 World U17 Hockey Challenge

Tournament Runs Oct. 30 - Nov. 7 in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, B.C.

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - USA Hockey announced today the 22-player roster for its 2015 U.S. National Under-17 Team, which will compete at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge Oct. 30 - Nov. 7, in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, British Columbia.

The roster includes 20 full-time members of the 2014-15 U.S. National Under-17 Team, part of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program based in Plymouth, Michigan. A complete Team USA roster can be found below.

The U.S. is coming off its third-straight appearance in the championship game and has now played in five of the last six title matches. Last year's squad captured second place in Sarnia, Ontario, marking the ninth consecutive top-three finish (2006, 2008-2014). No event was held in 2007. Team USA's previous tournament championships came in 2001, 2002, 2010 and 2014.

The preliminary round and quarterfinals will be streamed live on FASTHockey.com and the official tournament website, which can be found here ... The semifinal in Dawson Creek, third-place game and championship contest will be broadcast live on TSN ... The U.S. will skate in a pre-tournament game Friday (Oct. 30) against Canada Red at the Encana Events Centre in Dawson Creek ... The 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge includes two groups of four teams. Group A features Canada Black, Canada White, the Czech Republic, and the United States, while Group B includes Canada Red, Finland, Russia, and Sweden ... Don Granato (Downers Grove, Ill.) will lead the U.S. National Under-17 Team in the event for the third time, having previously coached the U.S. to a second-place finish in 2012 and a first-place showing in 2014. Joining Granato on the bench will be assistant coach Nick Fohr (Grand Forks, N.D.), goaltending coach Kevin Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and intern assistant coach Greg Moore (Lisbon, Maine).
