Disabled Hockey Workshop Underway in Boston

New and existing program administrators from around the country are convening in Boston this weekend for USA Hockey’s Disabled Hockey Workshop. The free workshop, which is being held today through Sunday (Oct. 2-4), is taking place at Matthews Arena on the campus of Northeastern University.

The workshop offers attendees educational sessions and networking opportunities pertaining to the four disciplines of disabled hockey: amputee hockey, hearing impaired hockey, sled hockey and special hockey. 

This year’s sessions include:

  • Try Hockey Events/Clinics
  • Framework of a Program
  • Effective Communication
  • Supporting Your Program: Volunteers
  • Supporting Your Program: Fundraising
  • Supporting Your Program: Public Speaking
  • The Rink: Building a Relationship With Your Home Rink
  • The Doctor Is In: Office Hours with Dr. Laura Dunn

Additionally, USA Hockey will be offering a Disabled Hockey Coaching Clinic on Sunday (Oct. 4) from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
