STAMFORD, CT – Olympian Julie Chu, leads the class announced for the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame, which is overseen by the Fairfield County Sports Commission, Inc.

Chu's 14-year hockey career as a member of the U.S. Women’s National team has been filled with major accomplishments and honors. The Fairfield, Conn. native is a four-time Olympian and four-time world champion. She has been a leader of women's hockey in the United States and has won three silver medals and a bronze in the Olympics. She carried the flag for the U.S. delegation at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, earlier this year.

Chu won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2007 as the best female collegiate hockey player and completed her four-year career at Harvard University as the NCAA leader with 284 points in 129 games.

Chu will be honored, along with the other newly elected Hall of Famers, with an induction ceremony at the Commission’s 10th anniversary Sports Night awards dinner, Monday, Oct. 20 at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich.
