INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. - Vlad Lundquist (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored twice and Josh Misiewicz (Lagrange, Ill.) tallied a goal and an assist in the U.S. National Developmental Sled Hockey Team's 4-2 win against the Canadian Development Team here today at Extreme Ice Center. The win evens up the three-game series at one game apiece.
Lundquist banked a shot off the goaltender from behind the net at 9:11 of the first period to stake the U.S. to a 1-0 lead. Canada tied the game with 2:01 left in the opening frame.
Chris Douglas (Saint Cloud, Fla.) put the U.S. back in front by converting a centering feed from Misiewicz 1:11 into the second period. Four minutes later, Misiewicz scored on a wraparound, boosting the U.S. lead to 3-1.
Canada scored in the first minute of the third period, but Team USA's defense maintained the one-goal advantage until Lundquist buried an empty-net goal with seven seconds left in the game.
The third and final game of the series is set for 11:00 a.m. ET tomorrow (Saturday, April 19).
