The United States and Russia square off in the pivotal Group B finale for each team. USA enters the game in first place, two points ahead of Russia, and needs just one point to clinch the top spot. A win by Russia in regulation would drop the U.S. to second place.
This marks the first Paralympic Games meeting between the U.S. and Russia. However, the teams have matched up four times in the last 14 months. In January 2013, Team USA blanked Russia, 4-0, at the USA Hockey Sled Cup. In the semifinals of the 2013 International Paralympic Committee World Championship, the U.S. earned a 2-1 victory. Team USA won by margins of 2-1 and 4-1 at last December’s World Sledge Hockey Challenge.

Head Coach Jeff Sauer
On facing Russia on Tuesday ... "The Russians have a physical style. They are old and mature and they are not afraid to bang. I'm just pleased that we can come with that kind of a game if we have to as well."
Alternate Captain and Defenseman Taylor Chace
On the team's game against Russia on Tuesday ... "Russia is physical, fast and strong and has the home advantage. We have to play collectively and make smart decisions on defense."
