The United States and South Korea meet today in a fight for first place in Group B. The Koreans earned a 3-2 shootout victory over Russia last night in which they overcame a two-goal deficit to force overtime.
Including a 5-0 win over Korea at the 2010 Paralympic Games, Team USA has a 5-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record in the last five seasons against the Koreans. The U.S. beat Korea, 5-1, in the gold medal game of the 2012 International Paralympic Committee World Championship. At the 2013 USA Hockey Sled Cup, Team USA notched wins of 3-0 and 5-2. Most recently, the U.S. posted a 5-0 victory last December at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge.
