Gameday: U.S. Men vs. Slovakia

The 2014 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team opens its preliminary round schedule in the XXII Olympic Winter Games against Slovakia at 7:30 a.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network. A live stream is also available via NBC Sports Live Extra.

The U.S. is 0-0-0-1-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) against Slovakia all-time in the Olympic Winter Games. Slovakia defeated the United States, 2-1, on Feb. 18, 2006 in the last meeting between the two teams.

Team USA is 9-0-1-8-3 all-time in its first game at the Olympics, including 4-0-0-1-2 over its last seven Olympic openers. Most recently, the U.S. defeated Switzerland, 3-1, to open the 2010 Games.
