The 2014 U.S. Olympic Women’s Team opens the XXII Olympic Winter Games against Finland Saturday (Feb. 8) at 3 a.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network in the United States. A live stream is also available via NBC Sports Live Extra.
The United States, which is 18-0-1-2 (W-OTW-OTL-L) all-time in the Olympic Winter Games, is undefeated in tournament-opening contests at the Olympics. During that stretch, the Americans have outscored opponents, 33-1.
Team USA is 5-0-0-0 all-time against Finland in the Olympic Winter Games, with the most recent meeting coming on Feb. 18, 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia. The U.S. won that game, 6-0.
Saturday's outing marks the first-ever Olympic game for 10 USA players, including five of the seven defensemen and five of the 11 forwards.
