USA Hockey announced today the 17-player roster for the 2013-14 U.S. National Development Sled Hockey Team. The team was selected following the USA Hockey Sled Select Camp (July 13-18) and a two-day tryout (July 19-20) in Williamsville, N.Y. Players who attended the 2013 USA Hockey Sled Select Camp were evaluated throughout the camp by National Team, Development Team and Sled Select Camp staff. Following the camp tryouts were held for the 2014 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team, during which all players were evaluated by National Team and Development Team staff. Players that attended either the Sled Select Camp or Paralympic Team Try-outs were eligible to be selected for the 2013-14 U.S. National Development Sled Hockey Team.

"We are excited about the talent level in the U.S. and the growth of sled hockey throughout the country," said Jeremy Kennedy, general manager of the U.S. National Development Sled Hockey Team. "Competition was fierce at both the Sled Select Camp and the Paralympic Team Try-outs."

"With the 2014 U.S. Paralympic Team set, we are 100% focused on developing players for the 2018 Paralympics," said Mike MacMillan, head coach of the 2013-14 U.S. National Development Sled Hockey Team. "Having players transition from the development team to the national and Paralympic team, is a true testament that the development program is on track in developing future Paralympians"

Eight players on the roster were on the 2012-13 U.S. National Development Team. That list includes Chris Douglas (Saint Cloud, Fla.), Nevin Gray (Greensburgh, Pa.), Billy Hanning (Fetus, Mo.), Kyle Huckaby (Port Arthur, Texas), Vlad Lundquist (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Dan McDevitt (Abinton, Pa.), Ezra McPhail (St. Antigo, Wis.) and Sam Mumper (Dublin, Ohio). Additionally, Tyler Anderson (Jenison, Mich.) and Craig Brady (Silver Spring, Mass.) return to the team having been on the team two years earlier.
