ABOUT BREEN

Established in April 2010, the Brendan Burke Internship is awarded annually to a recent college graduate who is pursuing a career in hockey operations. Brendan Burke passed away in an automobile accident on Feb. 5, 2010.

Breen's responsibilities will include interface with the NTDP, national teams, international events and player development camps and also include exposure to USA Hockey's acclaimed American Development Model and Coaching Education Program.

Breen, who graduated from Providence in 2012 with a master's degree in business administration, created the full-time, unpaid position of director of hockey operations at Providence in 2011. He was responsible for in-game and post-game analysis and coordinating team logistics and streamlining communications while working alongside the coaching staff.
