GAME DAY | U.S. Faces Korea in Preliminary Round Today

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will take on Korea here today in its second preliminary round game of the World Para Ice Hockey Championship. Puck drop is set for 5:00 p.m. ET at the Moose Jaw Events Centre in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The game will be streamed live on the Paralympics YouTube and Facebook.

The U.S. won 7-1 against Czechia yesterday in its first preliminary round game of the tournament, moving to 12-2-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) on the season. Travis Dodson (Deming, N.M.) recorded his first career hat trick and was named U.S. Player of the Game, and Kevin McKee (Davenport, Iowa) collected three assists. Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) recorded a goal and an assist, giving him 250 career points, extending his U.S. National Sled Hockey team record. 

Team USA is 6-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) all-time against Korea at the World Para Ice Hockey Championship, and 22-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) across all competitions all-time. At the 2021 World Para Ice Hockey Championship, the U.S. beat Korea 9-0 in the semifinals. 

Korea enters this game looking for its first win of the tournament after falling to Czechia on Sunday (May 28) and Canada yesterday (May 29).
