February 18 & 19 | Heading up to Trois-Rivières

Team USA spent Saturday and Sunday putting the finishing touches on the ice, before heading up to Trois-Rivières for the game on Monday.

Take a look at a few sights from the last two days on the ice (there may event be a few funny shots below as well.)

February 17 | Honoring Legends

February 17, 2023 is a special day in U.S. Women's National Team history. 25 years earlier, the 1998 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team won the first-ever Olympic gold medal, defeating Canada, 3-1, in Nagano, Japan.

A special team whose victory inspired many of the women's national team players who don the U.S. jersey today.

Following an early-afternoon practice in Montreal, the team reflected on what that team meant for women's hockey in the U.S. and how they impacted them on and off the ice.

"My biggest memory of watching that game was jumping up and down on the couch as they won. To watch them win an Olympic gold was so exciting to me." - Four-time Olympic Medalist, Hilary Knight

December 14 | One Sleep 'Till Henderson

The day before game four was a sunny day in the Las Vegas area. The team took to the ice for the last time at Lifeguard Arena for one last practice before tomorrow's game at The Dollar Loan Center.

Tuesday marked another practice day at Lifeguard Arena in Henderson, Nev., with the team preparing for their game against Canada on Thursday at The Dollar Loan Center.

Back at the hotel in the afternoon and into the evening, the players took part in a media shoot with a "hype room" and sit-down interviews. Stay tuned in the new year for all of the great content coming your way from the shoot.

A few teasers: "describe your teammate" featuring Lee Stecklein as 'team mom' and insight into the funniest pranksters on the team (hint: the first letter of their last names both start with K)...

In the meantime, check out some behind-the-scenes action from the shoot.

December 12 | "If You Can See It, You Can Be It"

Members of the U.S. Women's National Team finished arriving to Las Vegas on Monday and held their first practice back together since their Rivalry Series win over Canada in Seattle

After a spirited practice at Lifeguard Arena in Henderson, Nev., they greeted young fans and hockey players off the ice, signed autographs, and posed for pictures.

The significance of being an inspiration to young players is not lost on Team USA. Later in the evening following practice, Kendall Coyne-Schofield, Lee Stecklein, Lacey Eden, and Abby Roque hit the ice with the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights girls 10U, 12U and 14U teams, and certainly helped make memories to last a lifetime.

"It's so awesome to give back to the community," said Eden. "And to see all of these young who look up to us and who we can be an inspiration for in the hockey community."

December 11 | Rolling Out the Gold Carpet

LAS VEGAS - The Vegas Golden Knights rolled out the gold carpet for Team USA on Sunday evening as they hosted the Bruins for a home game at T-Mobile Arena.

U.S. Women's National Team members Cayla Barnes, Hannah Bilka and Rory Guilday were hosted by the Golden Knights during the game, taking part in pregame radio and TV interviews for Vegas' broadcasts, as well as fist-bumping the Lil Knights as they went out for a scrimmage, and cranking the rally siren from in front of the "castle" heading into the third period.

USAHockey.com was there to capture it all on video, so stay tuned for a Sights & Sounds recap from the game.

Team USA is scheduled to begin practices on Monday at Lifeguard Arena (Henderson, Nev.) in advance of Thursday's Rivalry Series game against Canada.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased by clicking here.

Prior to puck drop, Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho) received a gold stick to commemorate her all-time points record in the IIHF Women’s World Championship. She then led Team USA with two goals, including the game-winner, and an assist on the opening goal within the first minute of the game.

“I think that the crowd and everybody coming out of their seats 40 seconds into the game was a script that you can’t really draw up,” said John Wroblewski (Neenah, Wis.), head coach of the U.S. Women’s National Team. “What an exciting game.

November 11 | Game Action

Day three was filled with fun both on and off the ice. The team opened the day with a scrimmage against the AAA Wenatchee Wild U18 Boys team at the Kraken Community Iceplex. The U.S. topped the Wild, using the scrimmage as an opportunity to gel in a game environment. Seattle-area kids also had the day off from school, so the stands were packed to watch Team USA take the ice as well.

TAKING IN KRAKEN VS. WILD

Following the scrimmage, the team was invited to the Seattle Kraken-Minnesota Wild game as special guests of the Kraken. Players took in Climate Pledge Arena for the first time, seeing in person where they are going to play on November 20. The team was presented a special ‘Team USA’ Kraken jersey, met Kraken mascot Buoy and had some very nice seats, right off the glass, to take in the action. Following the game, Wild goalies Marc-André Fleury and Filip Gustavsson met up with Team USA netminders Nicole HensleyMaddie Rooney and Aerin Frankel. The group chatted all things #GoalieNation and swapped some pointers on playing in net at Climate Pledge Arena.

November 10 | Hitting the Ice

Day two in Seattle and the team started the day at the rink, hitting the ice for full practice. A group of fans came out to watch the team skate, giving the players a little extra pep as they worked hard on the ice. The team is enjoying skating at the Kraken Community Iceplex, the training home of the Seattle Kraken, especially since there is a Starbucks on the top floor – this team has a lot of coffee fans! If you ask the team who they think has the most complicated coffee order, it would be a unanimous answer…Hilary Knight. Her order is too complicated for the writer of this insider to even type out.

PRACTICING WITH THE NEXT GENERATION

Following Team USA’s practice, Kelly PannekNicole HensleyMaureen Murphy and Becca Gilmore surprised the Jr. Kraken Girls 8U and 10U teams at their evening practice. The teams were excited to skate with members of the U.S. Women’s National Team hear their advice on working hard and staying motivated.

Welcome to Seattle! With the start of the 2022-23 Rivalry Series right around the corner, the U.S. Women’s National Team opened its four-day training camp at the Kraken Community Iceplex in the Emerald City. Camp opened with a fast-paced, intense practice as both familiar faces and newcomers alike hit the ice.

VIEWS FOR DAYS

After an energetic practice, the team took in some Seattle sights, visiting the iconic Space Needle. Following a quick lesson on the history of the structure, the team took the elevator to the top, taking in the stunning panoramic views. Since it was a clear, sunny day in Seattle, the mountains and cityscape made for breathtaking views….and a great photo-op.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Since the Seattle community has been so welcoming to the U.S. Women’s National Team, the team wanted to make sure they give back to the community that supports them. Wednesday morning, forwards Hayley ScamurraJincy Dunne and defender Rory Guilday stopped by a learn-to-skate clinic being hosted by the Seattle Kraken to help teach the young children how to skate.

This clinic was special, as it was put on by the Seattle Kraken’s philanthropic arm, the One Roof Foundation and ReWA, the Refugee Women’s Alliance. The special program hosts children whose families participate in the early learning centers with ReWA the opportunity to learn how to skate for free.
