Tomorrow’s final matchups are set; puck drops at 8 a.m. CT

The Girls 15 players welcomed the Girls U-18 Select Camp to the St. Cloud State University campus yesterday. 2019 marks the first time in the history of USA Hockey’s Player Development Camps that two camps overlap on the same campus. The shared spaces and experiences are meant to show the younger girls how the hard work and dedication they invest in their development can pay off.

The girls from both camps listened to gold medalist Kendall Coyne Schofield speak to wrap up the day yesterday. Coyne Schofield talked about her experiences at Player Development Camps, becoming the first woman to compete in an NHL All-Star Skills Competition, and what it means to represent Team USA on the global stage.

Meetings and some dryland drills were sprinkled into the start of the day, but games occupied much of the players’ schedules this morning. Contests began at around 10:30 a.m. and concluded just before 4 p.m. local time. Recaps of today’s action can be found below.

This afternoon Kendall Coyne Schofield surprised the players with a Chipotle lunch to help refuel their bodies after many days of playing hard on the ice. Chicken, steak and vegetarian burritos, salsa, chips and guacamole were provided by the restaurant for the girls to enjoy. Players posed for pictures and took selfies with Coyne Schofield to remember the moment.

The day was capped off by the meetings with team leaders and interns, as well as a joint camp activity with the U-18 Select players.
