BRENT MESKE NAMED USHL DIRECTOR OF MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS FOLLOWING CLARK CUP FINAL RUN WITH CHICAGO STEEL

The United States Hockey League announced today that Brent Meske has been named the Director of Media and Communications, effective immediately.

Meske recently completed his first season as Media Relations Coordinator for the USHL’s Chicago Steel where he was responsible for developing local media relationships, running the Steel’s social media accounts, writing game recaps and press releases and managing the team website. With the USHL, Meske will serve as the point of contact for all media matters, including leading media efforts at the NHL Draft, USHL Combines and Clark Cup Final.

“We are thrilled to add Brent to our staff and excited about his ability and passion for the USHL,” said USHL President and Commissioner Tom Garrity.

The 24-year old previously served as Media Relations Assistant for the Steel during the end of the 2017-2018 season when the team was named the USHL Media Team of the Year.

A 2017 graduate of Southern Illinois University, Meske’s previous experience includes serving as a Game Night Public Relations Assistant for the Chicago Blackhawks as well as Public Relations Internships with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Chicago Sky (WNBA) and Chicago Bandits (NPF).

Meske is a native of Elgin, Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Journalism in 2017.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 17th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2018-19. The USHL had a record 45 players selected at the 2018 NHL Draft, more than any other junior league in the world, and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
