CRUISING BACK TO CHELYABINSK

The U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team returned to Chelyabinsk today in preparation for its quarterfinal matchup with Russia on Thursday at Traktor Ice Rink. Team USA has been in Magnitogorsk for the past nine days as it finished its training camp and completed its Group A preliminary round matchups. The U.S. had originally arrived in Chelyabinsk on April 11 and spent five days in the city to begin its training camp, that included an pre-tournament exhibition matchup with France.

The team ended the day with a limited practice at Traktor Ice Rink as it settled into its new locker room before heading back to the team hotel.

HUGHES POINTS TO FAMILY FOR EARLY SUCCESS

Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla./USAH NTDP) is leading the U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team in points (3-6-9) and ranks second amongst all tournament skaters. ESPN recently did a piece on his family, including his parents two brothers. The piece dives into Jack's rise to the older USA Hockey NTDP team, his relationship with his brothers Quinn (Orlando, Fla./University of Michigan) and Luke and the influence of his hockey savvy parents. Recently, ESPN Magazine highlighted Jack, Quinn and their youngest brother, Luke, in its ‘Next’ issue this past April. To read the profile, click here.
