Washington, D.C. – Following Sunday’s day off, Team USA returned to the ice this morning here at Verizon Center in preparation for the World Cup of Hockey 2016, which kicks off Sept. 17 in Toronto.

The U.S. will face Finland here tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN, live) in the third and final pre-tournament games for both teams.

Following practice, Team USA boarded a charter bus and headed to Quantico in Virginia where it met and ate lunch with a contingent of U.S. Marines. Following, the scene shifted to a shooting range at Quantico where players and staff received a safety briefing before having a chance to fire a number of weapons regularly used by the Marines. The day also included a briefing and team photo on the stairway leading up to the entrance of the Pentagon and a somber visit to the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial.
