Located in Lake Worth, Florida, the Palm Beach Tiger Sharks (PBTS) Sled Hockey program has been in existence for one year.

As part of the non-profit organization, Endless Possibilities for the Disabled, PBTS strives to provide community integration for people with physical disabilities through inclusive recreation by focusing on teamwork, independence and wellness. The program provides and coordinates sled hockey practices and competitions with other teams that build confidence, friendships, and fun for people who may not normally have access to such leisure opportunities.

Currently, PBTS uses borrowed, old equipment and sees most of its funding through Endless Possibilities directed toward ice time. As a recipient of the $25,000 Sled Hockey Development Grant, presented by Labatt Blue, PBTS will be able to purchase new sleds, uniforms and equipment that will not only help current players improve their skills but help the program generate more interest.

It is PBTS’s goal to field a competitive team that can produce athletes capable of playing on the national, international and Paralympic level.
