Sponsored by the Boston Shamrocks, an elite youth and junior hockey program, the organization’s sled hockey program focuses not only on providing disabled adults and children the tools to play sled hockey but the opportunity for individuals to flourish in a competitive environment and gain confidence that will assist them in all aspects of their lives.

With the goal of creating youth and adult sled hockey teams, the $25,000 Sled Hockey Development Grant, presented by Labatt Blue, provides the organization the necessary funds to purchase 15 new sleds that will ultimately help more individuals experience the fun and competitiveness of sled hockey.

The program uses skates at the Ristuccia Memorial Arena, the training center of the Boston Bruins. The Saturday sled hockey sessions at the arena are currently free and offer disabled athletes more ice time.
