Smart Forms are the CMS templates that are used to create content files. The various webpage Collections on your site recognize the Smart Form content and display it appropriately, according to which Collection the file is placed in. Smart Forms are accessed from within the CMS work area by selecting the folder in which you want to create your content, then selecting New > Smart Form from the Work Area drop-down menu.
Following is a Quick Reference to the main CMS Smart Forms and how they are used:
Home page collections
- Organization Name. No smart form, it's a straight html block
- Welcome Text. No smart form, it's a straight html block
- Top Story (has ice background). Uses Affiliate News Story, displays long description
- Upcoming Dates. ("Events" Collection in CMS) Uses "Affiliate Events" Smart Form
- Featured Events. Uses Affiliate News Story, Displays Long Description
- News. Uses Affilate News Story, Displays Short Description
All Sub-page collections
- Top Headline. Uses Affiliate News Story, Displays Long Description
- General News. Displays Long Description
Content placed in the "Body" section of the Affiliate News Story template creates the "More" link you see on the web page and displays when the "more" link is clicked.
The "Photo Gallery" Smart Form is a specialized smart form. It cannot be placed directly in a Collection. You must create second piece of content that has a link to the Photo Gallery.
