Come Play Youth Hockey Campaign

USA Hockey is inviting parents of children ages 4 to 8 years old to watch their kids soar with its “Come Play Youth Hockey” campaign. These resources can be utilized by local associations and rinks in print advertising, collateral materials, television, websites as well as giveaway items. Click here to download the step-by-step model.

The Come Play Youth Hockey campaign has joined Facebook. Become a fan of Come Play Youth Hockey to read blogs from 13 different families experiencing their first year of youth hockey across the country. These parents of 4-8 year olds will write a weekly update to go along with photos and video sharing the fun of hockey. There is also a discussion topic area where parents can submit questions related to youth hockey or talk amongst themselves.

If have any questions regarding the Come Play Youth Hockey campaign, please email us at ComePlayYouthHockey@usahockey.org or contact USA Hockey’s Membership Development department at (719) 576-8724.

Have A Hockey Halloween

This creative marketing tool combines the best communication method of word-of-mouth promotion and an excellent distribution process of getting into the classroom. Many schools do not allow for-profit companies to provide flyers promoting programs through the schools. This card program, which taps into the power of personal invitation, is a fun and engaging way to activate players in the association. It fulfills the purpose of candy distribution as well as offers more with the free invitation to skate or try hockey. Click here for a step-by-step model explaining this program and how to make it work for you.

American Development Model:
CHAMPS: California Hockey Athletes Making Progress Scholastically

California Hockey Athletes Making Progress Scholastically (CHAMPS) was established to help encourage and recognize youth hockey players in California who have committed themselves to getting good grades and working hard in school while playing the sport of hockey. Each Southern California Amateur Hockey Association (SCAHA) member is encouraged to join in an effort to reward every hard working hockey player both on and off the ice. Participants will receive patches to wear on their team jerseys (location is on the left front chest) compliments of the local NHL teams, tickets to either the Anaheim Ducks or LA Kings game, and be entered into an opportunity drawing for prizes, gift certificates and tickets to NHL games. For more information about the CHAMPS program, click here.

About the ADM: USA Hockey’s revolutionary American Development Model provides — for the first time ever — a national blueprint for optimal athlete development that is based on long-term athlete development principles, including age-appropriate learning. It provides a framework for our children to reach their fullest potential and also assists in reducing costs.

HOCKEY WEEKEND ACROSS AMERICA 2010 – January 29-31
Over 100 Rinks Have Signed up to Host a Free Clinic

At the root of growing hockey, the largest barriers are making your product cost-effective and convenient. To demonstrate how to overcome these barriers, Saturday, January 30th, of the 2010 Hockey Weekend Across America, USA Hockey will promote a nationwide free trial of hockey. This is a countrywide effort to have local rinks and associations offer a free sample of hockey at a consistent time with the maximum amount of ease.

The goal is to have least 200 rinks offer the program from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm their local time zone. So far, 107 rinks and associations have signed up to host a clinic – don’t miss out on this opportunity to grow the game in your area. Every facility participating will be promoted through the Hockey Weekend Across America website and their national campaign publicizing the event. If your facility is interested in participating, please fill out this form. For other questions, please email growthegame@usahockey.org.
