Shall consist of a minimum of 3 individuals. Recommended that one individual for the following be a part of this committee: skate sharpening, zamboni, flooding, grounds, buildings. Also recommended that each team should have a representative for each of the above listed areas.
a. Keeping building and rinks in complete repair
b. Flooding the ice rinks
c. Snow removal from rinks and the parking lot
d. Determine building needs, obtain information and price estimates to submit to the RVHA board for approval.
e. Maintain and repair equipment as needed. (Zamboni, scoreboard, furnace, public address system, etc.)
f. Maintain and repair hockey boards and players boxes.
g. Change ice blade on Zamboni
h. Provide tune ups and lubrication for Zamboni
i. For major repairs or the need for new equipment or additions, submit cost estimates and proposals to RVHA board for approval of funds.
- Arena / Game Scheduler: (C-Aaron Kuenkel)
Committee should include the head coach from each team to provide input to schedulers and assure proper communication to teams.
- Schedule the activities within the River Valley Ice Arena
b. Work with Coaching Staff setting practice schedules
c. Schedule away as well as home games for each hockey team
d. Post the schedule at the rink
e. Work with Referee Coordinator to arrange referees for all home games
a. Prepare future goals for RVHA
b. Research and submit plans for achieving goals to RVHA board of directors
c. Work with fundraising committee on keeping available monies in Capital Funds.
- Coaching Program: (C-Mike LeRoux)
Committee should consist of the head coaches of all teams.
a. Obtain applications from people interested in coaching
b. Recommendations are presented to the RVHA board.
c. Final decision for coach selection will be made by the Board of Directors.
d. Provide set guidelines to the coaches outlining their responsibilities as a River Valley Hockey Coach.
e. Insure that coaches attend the necessary coaching clinics.
f. This committee needs to research any coaching staff problem and report it to the RVHA Board of Directors when necessary.
g. Sets practice schedules in cooperation with the arena / game scheduler and coaches
h. Sets Coaching Philosophy
i. Provides coaching information and tools for the coaches
6. Code of Conduct Committee: (C-Aaron Kuenkel)
a. This committee is comprised of the RVHA Board of Directors.
b. This committee investigates any alleged violation of the Code of Conduct by player and/or coaches as outlined in the Code of Conduct policies and procedures handbook.
7. Concessions Committee: (C-Nicole DeConcini)
Committee should consist of a minimum of 3 individuals. Recommended that a representative from each team by apart of this committee.
a. Stock Kitchen as needed during the hockey season
b. Maintain and repair all Kitchen appliances as needed (obtain approval from RVHA board for major repairs or need to replace or purchase new equipment)
c. Provide necessary change for the weekend during the hockey season
d. Submit itemized bills to the treasurer
e. Schedule individuals to operate concessions
8. Association Volunteer Coordinating Committee: (C-Jeanette Jones)
Committee should consist of a minimum of 3 individuals. Recommended that a representative from each team by apart of this committee.
a. Organize volunteers for special projects, fundraisers, arena cleaning, etc.
b. Inform Team Managers of the need of the organizing of parents to cover necessary work which needs to be done by all members to keep down the costs of maintaining the River Valley Ice Arena and Hockey Association.
c. Set policies and procedures for all volunteering activities
9. Equipment Managers: (C-Aaron Kuenkel)
Committee should consist of a minimum of 3 individuals. Recommended that a representative from each team by apart of this committee.
- Keep an accurate inventory of RVHA owned hockey equipment
- Distribute and keep a running record of RVHA equipment (who has it)
- Keep the equipment in good repair
- Purchase any needed equipment (price and submit requests for new equipment to the Board)
- Distribute and keep a running record of RVHA equipment
- Evaluate jerseys and equipment for condition and submit report to Board of Directors of any compensation for damage or loss needed to be collected from association members
10. Scorekeeping: (C-Barb Qualle)
- Plan and organize personnel to operate scoreboard and stat sheets for each game.
b. Distribute copies (1-WAHA, 1-Association, 1-Home team coach, 1-visiting team coach.
c. Assure both teams are filled out correctly on scoresheet
d. Plan personnel to operate penalty boxes.
e. Work directly with scheduler and teams for planning
11. Fund Raising: (C-Jeanette Jones)
Committee should consist of a minimum of 5 individuals including the 3 members at large from the RVHA Board of Directors. Recommended that a representative from each team by apart of this committee.
a. Develop plans for fundraising activities and submit to RVHA board for approval
b. Communicate all fundraising activities with team managers
c. Submit reports to RVHA board of directors on status of fundraisers
d. Conduct the various fund raisers throughout the year (i.e. Pizza sales, raffles, auctions, food stands)
e. Look into different fund raising ideas and submit to RVHA board for approval
f. Sending out fundraising invoices for monies not collected
g. Obtaining association sponsors
h. Contacting businesses to purchase signs for advertising at the ice arena
12. Referee Program: (C-Andrea Seifert)
Committee to consist of all association referees.
a. Recruit referees for the season
b. Insure that all referees obtain certification by attending the necessary clinics
c. Schedule the referees for all home games and tournaments
d. Submit itemized statements to the treasurer for payments of the referees on a weekly basis
e. Conduct monthly referee meetings during the season.
f. Review referee self evaluation game surveys and referee evaluations by coaches for games.
13. Registration: (C-Andrea Seifert)
Committee should consist of a minimum of 3 individuals. Recommended that a representative from each team by apart of this committee.
a. Organizing Fall Hockey Registration
b. Publicize hockey registration date and distribute forms to the schools
c. Provide the necessary forms for registration
d. Obtain copies of birth certificates of hockey players and maintain team files
e. Collect registration fees and insure all registration fees are collected
f. Register players with WAHA and USA Hockey
g. Have registrants sign Release of Liability and Commit to Treat
h. Update team binders, containing the players’ birth certificates and permission to treat forms.
14. Recruiting: (C-Amy Klein)
14. W.A.H.A. Representative:
a. The President and/or Vice President are responsible for representing the River Valley Hockey Association at W.A.H.A. and other outside organizational meetings.
All representatives and committees of RVHA must submit all bills or revenues to the treasurer on a monthly or weekly basis. The bills and/or revenues need to be labeled as to where in the budget categories they are to be placed.
All representatives and committees of RVHA must submit their estimated revenues and expenditures to the RVHA treasurer by June 1st. The treasurer will then compile a budget to be submitted to the board for approval prior to July 1st.
