Disabled Hockey Workshop

The USA Hockey Disabled Section is proud to introduce the 2014 Disabled Hockey Workshop to be held in Washington, DC on October 3-5, 2014. This workshop was developed to educate new and prospective Sled and Special Hockey Programs on the basics of setting up a successful program. Not only will attendees receive great classroom education, there will be hands-on and on-ice training as well. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

  • Effective Communication
  • Supporting your Program: Volunteers
  • Fundraising
  • Grow the Game
  • Adapting Drills

New this year will be a Keynote Speaker on Saturday during lunch. This will be an opportuntity to learn from best of the best on various things related to sports and athletics.  

Additionally, this year the 2014-15 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will be doing an exhibition game with the USA Warriors.   This will be an opportunitity to see some of the best sled hockey players in the world compete with Wounded Warriors from around the country.

The best part of this workshop is that it is FREE! Participants will be responsible for transportation and hotel cost, but the actual educational sessions will be covered by the USA Hockey Disabled Section.
