2010 District Director Election Announcement

As you may know, USA Hockey is governed by a Board of Directors.  A majority of these directors represent the geographical districts of USA Hockey.  Each District can have up to four Directors, depending on the number of registered players in the District.  In the Pacific District, we have four Directors.  Each Director is elected to a three year term and their terms are staggered so no more than two are up for election at one time.  Our current Directors are Bruce Urban from Alaska, Donna Kaufman from Washington, Charlie Fuertsch from California, and Dick Coombs from California.  Directors are elected at large in the District, with the only restriction being that no more than two may be from any one state.

Bruce Urban’s term expires this year. Bruce has moved out of the District and will not be running for re-election.  Two candidates have been nominated for that position.  They are Cullen Wallace from Alaska and Casey Jorgensen from Washington.

USA Hockey contacts for the organization (typically the registrar) have been provided the email address to both candidates.  These candidates may be contacting the registrar by email.  This information should then be forwarded any contact information to the association President so that the information can be considered by the local board of Directors.

About April 1, 2010 ballots will be sent for the actual voting to the local association registrars.  These ballots should be given to the association President for action by the Board of Directors.  Information with the ballot will include how many votes each association has (based on the number of registered players on March 15, 2010) and instructions on submitting the association’s ballot by April 30, 2010.  Any ballots sent after April 30th will not be counted.

If you have any questions at this time or after you receive the ballot, please contact Dan Rogness at  danrog@alaska.net or by phone at 907-278-1924.
