HEALTH ALERT - H.I. Five Hockey

I am sure that you are aware of the recent national news about a dangerous form of staph infection called “MRSA” (pronounced Mer-sa) and the resulting deaths of children across our country.  MRSA is quickly spreading, especially in contact sports such as hockey.  In response to this health threat, Super Clean would like to alert the members of CAHA about this illness and offer ways to protect against this threat.

Super Clean has a public awareness campaign called “H.I. Five Hockey”, which stands for “Hygiene Initiative For Hockey.  The campaign is designed to familiarize the hockey community about MRSA/Staph infections so that we all understand what MRSA is and know how to recognize the warning signs of infection.  Early detection is a key weapon in fighting MRSA and getting the medical assistance that can save a life.  In addition, H.I. Five Hockey teaches 5 basic rules to follow in order to reduce the risk of contracting the disease.  By following these guidelines, the incidence of MRSA can be lowered in the hockey community.

Please go to http://www.supercleangear.com/highfive.html to learn more about MRSA and H.I. Five Hockey.  Getting sick should not be a part of playing the game.  This is a serious issue and we hope this information helps you implement a proper hygiene program in your organization in order to win the battle against infection.
