Gruden Scores Twice In Dubuque; U17s Fall 4-2

Jonathan Gruden (Rochester, Mich.) tallied twice for the U.S. National Under-17 Team in its 4-2 loss to the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Saturday Night at the Mystique Ice Center.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, Gruden opened the scoring for the U17s just 10 seconds into the second period off a feed from Tyler Weiss (Raleigh, N.C.) and Jake Goldowski (Thornhurst, Pa.). 

Dubuque tallied another goal in the second before Gruden his second goal, unassisted at the 18:54 mark of the period. 

The Fighting Saints added one more goal in the third to bring the score to its final 3-2. 

Team USA goalkeeper Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) finished the night with 37 saves on 41 shots. 

The U17s finish their weekend road trip tomorrow with a 5 p.m. ET matchup in Bloomington against the Thunder.
