U18s Fall to Stars 7-3

Balanced scoring continues in U18s loss

The U.S. National Under-18 Team fell to the Lincoln Stars 5-3 on Saturday night at the Ice Box. 

The U18s responded to a quick Stars goal when Evan Barratt (Bristol, Pa.) scored at the 1:57 mark of the opening frame off a feed from Michael Pastujov (Bradenton, Fla.).

Jake Wise (North Andover, Mass.) tallied four minutes later to give the U18s the lead. Graham Slaggert (South Bend, Ind.) earned an assist on the play.

Grant Mismash (Edina, Minn.) scored at the midway mark of the first period to give the U18s a 3-1 lead. Josh Norris (Oxford, Mich.) and Joel Farabee (Cicero, N.Y.) registered assists on the goal.

The Stars rattled off six unanswered goals in the second and third periods to bring the final score to 7-3. 

Team USA goaltender Adam Scheel (Lakewood, Ohio) finished the night with 27 saves. 

The U18s return to action next weekend when they return home to USA Hockey Arena for a pair of matchups against the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Friday (Mar. 17) and Saturday (Mar. 18) at 7 p.m. ET. Tickets are available at USAHockeyNTDP.com/Tix.
