U.S. Roster for IIHF Women’s World Championship Showcased In Upcoming Isobel Cup Playoffs

The 2017 NWHL Playoffs, which begin this week and conclude on Sunday, March 19 at 6 p.m. ET with the Isobel Cup Final, will feature a number of players who were recently named to the U.S. Women’s National Team and will represent Team USA at the upcoming IIHF Women’s World Championship.

The Boston Pride enter the NWHL playoffs as the league’s top seed with a 16-1 record. The Pride’s lineup features many USWNT players, including Kacey Bellamy, Alex Carpenter, Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan, Hilary Knight, Gigi Marvin and Amanda Pelkey. They will open the semifinals against the fourth seeded Connecticut Whale on Thursday. The Whale have Kelli Stack and Haley Skarupa in their lineup.

The other semifinal on Friday will pit Amanda Kessel and the second seeded New York Riveters against Megan Bozek and Emily Pfalzer of the the third seeded Buffalo Beauts.

Tickets for the Isobel Cup Final – the championship game of the National Women’s Hockey League – are available now at nwhl.zone/tickets.

The 6,500-seat Tsongas Center is home to the NCAA Division I UMass-Lowell River Hawks hockey team.

Following the final game of the NWHL season, Team USA will seek to win the gold at the 2017 IIHF World’s World Championship, taking place between March 31 – April 7 in Plymouth, Michigan. Tickets are available now at 2017womensworlds.com/tix.
