As part of the 10th annual Hockey Weekend Across America, which has morphed into Hockey Week Across America, we are bringing you a series of features surrounding the celebration of players, coaches, officials, rinks and the many volunteers who make our sport great.
The USA Hockey Officiating Program will collaborate with several American-based National Hockey League clubs to host our annual "Meet the NHL Officials" program as a part of the Hockey Week Across America celebration.
This year, young grassroots officials were nominated and selected to attend an NHL game and meet the officials in their dressing room before the puck is dropped. During the meeting, these developing officials will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn what it takes to work the highest levels of our game, and the NHL Officials will have a brief reminder of the grassroots hockey community from where they came from.
