Each month, the United States Olympic Committee celebrates the outstanding achievements of Team USA athletes through the Team USA Awards.

After claiming an unprecedented third-consecutive World Sled Hockey Challenge crown in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, back on December 10th, the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team has been named a finalist by the USOC for Best Team of December.

Team USA earned a 4-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record over five games at the World Sled Hockey Challenge, including a 5-2 victory over Canada in the title game, and outscored its opponents 27-4.

The U.S. has now claimed six straight major international titles, a streak that began at the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Forward Declan Farmer amassed 17 points (8 goals, 9 assists) to finish as the tournament’s leading scorer for the third straight time. Farmer’s 17 points also set a new U.S. record for the most points for a U.S. player in a single World Sled Hockey Challenge, and his 8 goals broke a previous record he shared for the most goals scored by an American in a single World Sled Hockey Challenge.

Goaltender Steve Cash finished with a tournament-leading .921 save percentage while earning four victories for Team USA.
