Game To Highlight Youth Girls' Players Throughout State of Michigan During Pre-Game and Intermission Activity

When the women’s national teams from the U.S. and Canada face off Saturday (Dec. 17) at USA Hockey Arena in the Detroit suburb of Plymouth, one of the great rivalries in sport will renew.

The North American hockey powers have thrilled fans with many classic games over the course of time and the chance to witness the latest iteration of the battle comes when the puck drops at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Tickets for the game, which is part of the Team USA Winter Champions Series, are on sale by visiting the USA Hockey Arena box office or online by clicking here.

Fans attending the game will receive a free American flag and also get an exclusive advance purchase and discounted ticket offer for the upcoming 2017 IIHF Women’s World Championship, which will be hosted at USA Hockey Arena March 31-April 7.

Carly Bins, a senior at Northville (Mich.) High School, will sing both the U.S.  and Canadian national anthems prior to opening faceoff. Flag bearers from area youth hockey programs will also be part of the ceremonies prior to the game.

The intermissions will showcase cross-ice games featuring girls’ players at the 8U and 10U levels from across the state of Michigan.

NBCSN will televise the game live with Gord Miller calling the play-by-play, Olympic gold-medalist A.J. Mleczko-Griswold providing color commentary and Leila Rahimi serving as the rinkside reporter. USA Hockey executive Dave Ogrean will be a guest in the booth during the first period.
