Four Different US Teams in Action This Week

USA-Canada Rivalry Renews Saturday at USA Hockey Arena

The U.S. and Canada will renew one of the fiercest rivalries in sport Saturday (Dec. 17) at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan, when the women’s national teams of each nation face off as part of the Team USA Winter Champions Series.

Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. ET and a limited number of tickets remain on sale both online here and at the USA Hockey Arena box office.

“We’re excited to be part of the Winter Champions Series,” said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey. “There’s no better rivalry than the U.S. and Canada in hockey and fans are in for a treat on Saturday.”

The game will be nationally televised by NBCSN with Gord Miller, A.J. Mleczko-Griswold and Laila Rahimi calling the action.

The U.S. Women’s National Team program is conducting its Winter Training Camp at USA Hockey Arena through Thursday and the roster for the USA-Canada game is expected to be announced Friday (Dec. 16).

U.S. National Junior Team Begins Camp Friday in Buffalo

A total of 27 players will gather for the U.S. National Junior Team Camp in Buffalo, New York, on Thursday (Dec. 15) as Team USA prepares for the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Hockey Championship, slated for Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Toronto and Montreal.

Daily practices at HarborCenter in Buffalo will commence Friday (Dec. 16) with on-ice sessions taking place each day through Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. ET. All practices are free of charge and open to the public.

The U.S. will then shift to Canada to continue its preparations, including pre-tournament games on Dec. 21 against Switzerland at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario, at 7 p.m. ET and on Dec. 23 in Kingston, Ontario, at Rogers K-Rock Centre against the Czech Republic at 7 p.m. ET.

The final 23-player U.S. roster is expected to be announced by Dec. 24.

NHL Network is the exclusive television home of the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship and will broadcast all Team USA games in the championship live and 23 games in total.

U.S. Continues Play in World Junior A Challenge Tomorrow

Team USA continues play in the World Junior A Challenge tomorrow against Canada East. Opening faceoff is set for 9:30 p.m. ET in Bonnyville, Alberta, and the game is being streamed live on HockeyTV.com.

NOTES: The World Junior A Challenge is in its 11th year, and the U.S. is competing for the 10th time. Team USA has captured the World Junior A Challenge title six times (2008-10, 2012-14) … The 2016 field includes Canada East, Canada West, Czech Republic, Russia, Switzerland and the United States.

U.S. National Under-17 Team Travels to Switzerland for U17 Four Nations

The U.S. National Under-17 Team, part of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, will play in the 2016 Under-17 Four Nations Cup in Monthey, Switzerland, Friday-Sunday (Dec. 16-18).

The U.S. will be competing alongside Russia, Slovakia and host Switzerland. Team USA will face Switzerland in a pre-tournament game Wednesday (Dec. 14) at 1:30 p.m. ET before opening the tournament Friday (Dec. 16) against Slovakia at 8:15 a.m. ET.
