Under-17 Team Bests Fairbanks, 4-1, in NAHL Matchup

A three-goal third period helped lift the U.S. National Under-17 Team over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs in a North American Hockey League matchup here tonight.

Jake Goldowski (Thornhurst, Pa.) put Team USA on the board with 2:12 to play in the opening period.

The game remained at 1-0 until 1:08 into the third frame when Jake Wise (North Andover, Mass.) tallied to make it 2-0. Joel Farabee (Cicero, N.Y.) added the lone assist on the play.

Jonathan Gruden (Rochester, Mich.) extended Team USA's lead to 3-0 at 11:12 before the Ice Dogs responded with a power-play goal to get on the board.

Joel Farabee (Cicero, N.Y.) scored a shorthanded marker just 1:05 later to account for the 4-1 final.

Goaltender Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) stopped 21 shots in the win.

The two teams will meet again at 11:30 p.m. ET tonight (Dec. 3) at Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks, Alaska. The game will be streamed live on HockeyTV.
