U.S. National Under-18 Team defenseman Quinn Hughes (Orlando, Fla.) was named the CCM/USHL Defenseman of the Week for the second time this season after registering five assists in a pair of victories against Madison last weekend, the United States Hockey League announced Monday evening.

Hughes had one assist in a 5-2 victory against Madison before adding four assists, including three on the power play, in Saturday's 7-5 victory.

His first award came earlier this season following a five assist performance in Team USA's 8-5 victory against Muskegon on Thanksgiving Eve.

Hughes leads the U18s in assists this season (20) and tied for fourth in points (21). He also leads Team USA (combined U17s and U18s) in points (14) and assists (13) in 11 games.

Fargo's Jack Adams earned CCM/USHL Forward of the Week honors and Lincoln's Derek Schaedig and Sioux Falls' Mikhail Berdin were named the CCM/USHL co-Goaltenders of the Week.

The U18s enjoy a holiday break before returning to action on Friday, Dec. 30 with a 2 p.m. matchup against Trinity College at USA Hockey Arena. Fans will be able to skate with the players following the game. Tickets are available at USAHockeyArena.com.
