Associations and rinks can register now to host Nov. 12, Feb. 25

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Hockey announced today that associations and rinks can register now at USAHockeyProgramServices.com to host Try Hockey For Free Days scheduled for the 2016-17 season.

The first nationwide Try Hockey For Free Day will be Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, as part of Come Play Hockey Month. The second opportunity will occur Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, during Hockey Week Across America.

USA Hockey's Try Hockey For Free program, with the support of the National Hockey League and NHL member clubs, among others, is designed to provide youth hockey associations a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport. Total Hockey and Liberty Mutual Insurance are official sponsors of Try Hockey For Free Days.

Associations and rinks interested in hosting a designated Try Hockey For Free Day can click here to register. Registration is also open for USA Hockey's 2 and 2 Challenge, which can be a powerful complement to Try Hockey For Free events. The program provides youth hockey associations with step-by-step guidance, national programs, resources and tools to boost participation among children between the ages of 4 and 8. NOTE: USA Hockey's national Try Hockey For Free Days have introduced more than 116,000 children to the sport over the past six seasons.
