Feb. 19, 2016 | Sixty skaters, 12 coaches and six skill stations inside one historic rink. That was the scene on Valentine's Day at Princeton University, when the Princeton Youth Hockey Association (PYHA) hosted a USA Hockey American Development Model clinic for 12U and 10U players at Princeton’s Hobey Baker Rink. After all, what better way to spend Valentine’s Day than doing something you love? For hockey players, that would certainly be playing hockey. “The kids did great,” said Paul Vogel, a PYHA 10U coach. “They battled hard and they had a lot of fun. This was a great opportunity to show how we can have a really effective practice with six stations, get the kids moving, work on their individual skills, their team skills and get the kids skating and moving with the puck.”

Rich Hansen, USA Hockey ADM regional manager, joined the coaches and players at Hobey Baker Rink for what was a memorable day.

"It was a great event made even better by one of the most iconic college rinks in the country," said Hansen. "I was impressed by the players' enthusiasm and skill level, and the coaches did a fantastic job, too. They showed a lot of energy."
