2016 IIHF Men’s U18 World Championship Schedule & Ticket Information Confirmed

​GRAND FORKS, North Dakota -- USA Hockey and Ralph Engelstad Arena announced today important details, including ticket information, for the 2016 IIHF Men’s Under-18 World Championship. The 10-team event will be staged in Grand Forks from April 14-24, 2016, and features the top players in the world under the age of 18.

Ralph Engelstad Arena will serve as the main venue for the event and host 25 games, with the other six games of the tournament being staged on the Judd Sondreal Memorial Ice Sheet at the Icon Sports Center.

Full event ticket packages go on sale Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. CT both online at www.GrandForks2016.com and at the Ralph Engelstad Box Office. Prices start as low as $155 and guarantee access to all 31 games, including playoff and medal-round games, as well as opening and closing ceremonies. Purchasing a full event ticket package will save fans 50% off the price of single-session tickets. With 31 games included in the full event ticket package, prices start as low as $5 per game. Full event ticket packages range in price from $155 - $295, based on seat location.

“We’re very excited to launch our full event ticket packages and announce the official event schedule,” said Jody Hodgson, president of the host organizing committee and general manager of Ralph Engelstad Arena. “Tickets for this event have purposefully been set at family-affordable prices. With tickets priced as low as $5 per game, we think we’re going to get a terrific response from the community. The event is going to start with a great game on opening night when Team USA faces off with Russia and it will only get better as we work toward the Gold Medal game on April 24th. We can’t wait to once again welcome the world to Grand Forks and the Ralph Engelstad Arena.”

The 10 participating teams in the 2016 IIHF Men’s U18 World Championship are split into two pools for preliminary round play with the USA, Switzerland, Russia, Sweden, and Latvia comprising Group A and Finland, Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Denmark making up Group B. The playoffs will include quarterfinals, semifinals, as well as Bronze and Gold Medal Games.

The official event logo features an artistic rendering of the Red River of the North. The river is used in recognition of the prominent role that communities on both sides of Red River will play in the success of this event.
