Adjustments Made to National Development Camp Structure

As part of an overall strategy to provide programs that effectively develop the future generation of elite female players, USA Hockey has introduced a Girls Under-18 Select Camp that will take place June 27-July 3, at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. Sixty-six players have been invited to attend the camp, which will now take place annually.

An additional 180 players will take part in the annual Girls U18 National Player Development Camp from July 8-14 in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

USA Hockey has also restructured existing Girls National Development Camps at the 14 and 15 age levels. A regionally focused development opportunity will be implemented for 14-year-old players, eliminating the annual Girls 14 Camp, while increasing participation at the annual Girls 15 Development Camp in St. Cloud, Minnesota, from 108 to 216 players. These changes will allow an increased number of participants at each age level and supports the long-term development model. Overall, there will be a 17 percent increase in the number of girls who will experience a USA Hockey National Development Camp environment.
