The United States and Finland are meeting for the 14th time in IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship history with the U.S. holding a 9-0-0-4 (W-OTW-OTL-L) all-time record in the series. The two nations are playing for the gold medal for the second time, having previously squared off in the title game in 2006 - a 3-1 victory for Team USA. The United States has won nine of the last 10 meetings, including a 4-3 win to close preliminary-round action last year. Despite the dominance in the series by the U.S., seven of the 13 all-time match ups have been decided by one goal.
