Team USA did not skate today. After breakfast, the squad left Leduc via bus for the West Edmonton Mall and arrived just after 11 o'clock. The largest shopping mall in North America kept the team entertained for nearly six hours with its stores, dining venues and world-class attractions.

STAFF PUTT CHALLENGE ENDS IN TIE
The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team staff divided into two teams of three for a round of Professor's WEM's 18-hole miniature golf course. Team Cortese -- consisting of general manager Dan Brennan, assistant coach Guy Gosselin and athletic trainer Mike Cortese -- held the lead for most of the match. On the 17th hole, however, Team Sauer -- including head coach Jeff Sauer, media contact Jon Gomez and team physician Mike "Doc" Uihlein -- made it a one-stroke game on the 17th hole thanks to Doc's hole-in-one. With Team Sauer closing the 18th hole one stroke less than Team Cortese, the match ended in a tie. Commenting on the result, coach Sauer said, "It was about the journey, not the result."

When his playing days end, two-time Paralympic gold medalist Josh Pauls may have a future in television after spending the day documenting the team's trip to the mall. The video (featured above), includes behind-the-scenes clips of the team, including an interview with goaltender Steve Cash.
