Player Development Camps

Shortened Bench: Black was forced to roll just eight forwards on Saturday, as Jay Feiwell (No. 8) and Michael Pastujov (No. 11) did not dress due to injury. Netminder David Tomeo (No. 30) was also forced to man the crease for the entire 50 minutes of play as a result of an injury to Dominik Vlaha (No. 1).

Spreading Things Out: White received multiple-point performances from six different skaters in its 9-2 victory over Columbia on Saturday. Joseph Cassetti (No. 9) paced the club's offense with four points (3G, 1A), with Jayson Dobay (No. 6) following close behind with three (1G, 2A). David Farrance (No. 2), Alec Freyberger (No. 4), Chase Brand (No. 11) and Joshua Norris (No. 16) each added a pair of points apiece for White, who also had six other skaters tally one point.

Overcoming Adversity: After relinquishing a 5-1 advantage over the game's second half, Gold eventually finished the job in the shootout to edge Red by a score of 6-5. Scott Reedy (No. 10) and Jonathan Bendorf (No. 14) each contributed a goal and an assist in regulation for Gold, who came out on top 2-0 in the shootout to emerge victorious. 

NHL Bloodlines: Forest's Christopher Trouba (No. 6), is the younger brother of current Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba.  A first-round selection (ninth overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the elder Trouba enjoyed a breakout freshman NHL season in 2013-14, recording 29 points over 65 games. He is also an NTDP alum and represented the Team USA at two World Junior Championships (2012 & 2013), being crowned a tournament All-Star as well as the Best Defenseman overall en route to a gold medal in 2013.

A Family Affair: Forest's Tyce Thompson (No. 11) is the son of former NHL player and coach, Brent Thompson. The elder Thompson is set to embark on his second stint as head coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this coming season, the AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders. He also spent two seasons (2011-13) as an assistant coach of the Islanders and enjoyed a 15-year professional career, which included 121 NHL contests. Tyce's older brother, Tage Thompson, also had an impressive showing at the recent Select 17 camp and recorded seven points in five games.

Following in Dad's Footsteps: Purple's No. 10 Brady Tkachuk is the son of USA Hockey great and former NHLer, Keith Tkachuk. The five-time NHL All-Star enjoyed a stellar 19-year career, over which he tallied 1,065 points over 1, 201 games. He currently holds Phoenix Coyotes franchise records for career game-winning goals (40) and penalty minutes (1, 508), while also sitting as one of only four American-born players to score 500 goals as well as the sixth American player to reach 1,000 points. In international play, Tkachuk represented the United States at four Winter Olympic Games (1992, 1998, 2002 & 2006) and captured a silver medal in 2002.
