National Hockey Coaches Symposium Set for Las Vegas, Nev.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The 2014 National Hockey Coaches Symposium will take place August 21-24 at the J.W. Marriott Resort and Spa in Las Vegas, Nev., it was announced today by USA Hockey.

"The National Hockey Coaches Symposium is a marquee event that offers coaches a valuable opportunity to learn from the very best," said Mark Tabrum, USA Hockey's director of coaching education. "We encourage coaches to register early as this event sells out quickly."

Held every other year, the National Hockey Coaches Symposium is for aspiring coaches seeking to attain their Level 5 certification, the highest offered by USA Hockey. In addition to general sessions, coaches will also have the opportunity to explore innovative approaches to coaching through intensive breakout sessions dedicated to age-specific teaching based on the level of players they're coaching.

Notes: The last National Hockey Coaches Symposium was held in 2012 in Washington, D.C. Brian Burke, Dan Bylsma, Jon Cooper, Kevin Dineen, George McPhee, Eddie Olczyk, Peter Laviolette, Ron Rolston, Joe Sacco and Mike Sullivan were among the featured speakers.
