COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Andy Yohe (Bettendorf, Iowa) has been named captain of the 2014 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team, while Taylor Chace (Hampton Falls, N.H.) and Josh Sweeney (Phoenix, Ariz.) have been named alternate captains, it was announced today by USA Hockey.

"Andy Yohe was captain of the 2010 U.S. Paralympic Team that won the gold medal in Vancouver, and the players in our locker room have great respect for him," said Jeff Sauer, head coach of the 2014 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team. "As a coaching staff, we like that his return to Team USA brings a fresh sense of attitude and responsibility. Josh Sweeney and Taylor Chace are strong players for us on the ice and they will continue in leadership roles that they took on last season."

In addition to leading Team USA to the gold medal at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, Yohe was a member of the bronze medal-winning U.S. squad at the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. Yohe took a hiatus from Team USA from 2010-2013.

Alternate captains Chace and Sweeney occupied the same positions during the 2012-13 season for the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team, helping to lead Team USA to a silver medal-showing at the 2013 IPC Ice Sledge World Championship in Goyang City, South Korea, and first-place finishes at both the 2012 World Sledge Hockey Challenge and 2013 USA Hockey Sled Cup.
