Gosselin to be Enshrined in UMD Hall of Fame

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Guy Gosselin (Colorado Springs, Colo.), a regional manager of USA Hockey’s American Development Model, will be enshrined into the University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Hall of Fame it was announced last week by the university.

Gosselin played parts of five seasons (1982-87) on the blue line with the UMD men’s ice hockey team, helping the Bulldogs to the program’s first two National Collegiate Athletic Association Frozen Fours (1984, 1985), as well as its first two Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season (1983-84, 1984-85) and playoff titles (1984, 1985). As a captain during his senior campaign, Gosselin earned All-WCHA First Team and UMD most valuable player recognition.

Following his collegiate career, the Rochester, Minn. native suited up for Team USA at two Olympic Winter Games (1988,1992), serving as an alternate captain on the 1992 Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team that placed fourth in that tournament. Gosselin was also a member of the U.S. Men’s National Team on three occasions (1986, 1990, 1991) at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship.

Gosselin played professionally for parts of six seasons, including a five-game stint with the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets. He also skated with the Moncton Hawks of the American Hockey League for two seasons (1988-90) before playing in Sweden for two seasons (1990-91, 1992-93) with Skellftea AIK. Gosselin finished his decorated playing career with the International Hockey League’s Kansas City Blades in 1993-94.

In addition to his role as regional manager for the American Development Model, Gosselin has worked as an assistant coach with the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team the past two years.
